Iran
Tasnim and other Iranian outlets said a missile attack hit a small Iranian tanker near Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil-loading hub, and caused no casualties. A Tasnim reporter on Kharg put the vessel about six miles from the island, and the accounts said four missiles were fired at it. Kharg Island is central to Iran’s crude export system and oil-loading infrastructure, making the claimed strike nearby significant for energy markets and maritime security.

Libya
Representatives of Libya’s rival institutions signed the deal during a ceremony linked to the United Nations mission in Libya, and it immediately requires practical steps to revive the stalled electoral process. The agreement also commits them to carry out the first two milestones of the Libyan Political Roadmap. UN official Hanna Tetteh said the deal could help break the political and institutional deadlock that has delayed elections, while easing pressure from militias and competing power centers if it holds.

Djibouti
The group Sherpa is accusing Djibouti President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh and several relatives in a Paris civil-party complaint filed Sept. 2 over alleged illicitly acquired assets. That kind of filing can put the claims before an investigating judge for possible examination. The complaint names Guelleh’s eldest daughter, Fatouma-Awo Ismaïl Omar, and his son-in-law, Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss. It also names siblings, a nephew and a cousin among about 15 people, and Sherpa says they illegally built wealth through real estate purchases in upscale Paris districts. The case puts France’s property market under scrutiny, and Guelleh has led Djibouti since 1999.
