Cambodia
Cambodia has announced a roughly $1.2 billion intervention program aimed at protecting households and businesses as growth slows and price pressures persist, the Cambodian government said. The package comes as higher food and energy costs and weaker global demand weigh on workers, borrowers and firms. The economy is heavily tied to exports, tourism, construction and property, sectors that are central to jobs and economic activity and can quickly pass pressure through households and companies.

Nigeria
Nigeria has begun local production of dual-active-ingredient mosquito nets, with a target of 10 million nets a year, The Nigerian Observer reported. A company statement said the manufacturing facility is Health Textiles Nigeria FZE and that it is wholly owned by Vestergaard. Dual-active-ingredient nets are designed to address mosquito resistance to older insecticides, a problem that has weakened the effectiveness of some malaria-control measures. The World Health Organization says Nigeria is one of the world’s highest-burden malaria countries, giving the new production line immediate importance as output starts toward the annual target.
