Let readers sign in on your site

Readers sign in from any widget with a free Lexy account that keeps their plays and scores.

Reader accounts
Updated October 5, 2026

Every Lexy game card on your site has a small Sign In link. A reader who signs in gets a free Lexy account that keeps the games they play and their scores. One account works on every site with Lexy. There is nothing for you to set up: sign-in comes with your widgets.

What readers see

  • Sign In in the top corner of the card, in the card's own colours and the widget's language.
  • At the end of a game, under the score, the line "Save your score and keep your progress." and a Sign in with Lexy button. Once the score is saved, it reads Saved to your Lexy account.
  • A reader who is already signed in skips the button. Their score saves by itself and they see the confirmation.

Anyone can still play without signing in.

The sign-in window

Tapping Sign In opens a small Lexy window. Your page stays open behind it.

  1. The reader picks Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, Continue with Microsoft or Continue with email.
  2. New to Lexy, they click Create a free account. Email sign-up asks for an email and a password of at least 8 characters. A name is optional.
  3. Once they are in, the window closes by itself and a note drops in over the card: "Signed in as" and their name.

If the reader is already signed in to Lexy.fm in that browser, the window asks first. It shows the account's name and email, with two choices:

ChoiceWhat it does
Continue as nameSigns them in on your site with that account.
Use a different accountSigns that browser out of Lexy.fm and shows the sign-in form. The window says so under the button.

The window takes the widget's colour and language, so it looks like part of your game. In Arabic it reads right to left.

The account menu

Once a reader is signed in, the Sign In link becomes a settings icon. Tapping it opens a menu over the card:

ItemWhat it does
My ProfileOpens their Lexy profile in a new tab: the games they played, with scores, on every site.
Sign OutSigns them out of Lexy on your site. A "Signed out" note confirms it.
Visit Lexy.fmOpens Lexy.fm in a new tab.

What signing in saves

  • Plays. Every game they play in your widgets is saved to their account. If they sign in on the results screen, the game they just finished is saved too.
  • Scores. Their score on each game, including games on a gated card.
  • One sign-in per site. A reader signs in once on your site and stays signed in there. Signing in on your site doesn't sign them in on another publisher's site.

What you see

Signed-in readers show up in My Players like everyone else: under an anonymous player number, never with a name, email or phone number. A reader who signs in on their phone and their laptop counts as one player. Their plays count in your game and widget stats the same way. See My Players and export.

To give readers a page of their own on your site, with their games and Lexy's phone calls, add a Profile widget.

Common questions

Do readers have to sign in to play?

No. Every game plays without an account. Signing in only keeps their scores.

Can a reader's account make games?

No. A reader's account is a free account for playing. Creating games and widgets needs a publisher plan. See Plans, add-ons and billing.

A reader forgot their password. What do they do?

On the email sign-in form, they click Forgot password? and then Send Reset Link. The link in the email lasts one hour.
