Show a game as a card, an FAQ, a QR code or a floating button, and choose what the card shows.

Widgets and embeds
Updated October 5, 2026

A game widget can sit in your page as a card, list its questions and answers like an FAQ, show a QR code, or float in the corner of the screen. You choose one display mode per widget and can change it at any time. The embed code on your page stays the same.

The widget types

TypeWhat it shows
Single gameOne of your games.
Topic feedGames from a topic you choose, one to four at a time.
Auto widgetA quiz made from each page it sits on. See Let the Auto widget make a quiz for every article.
News BriefLexy's narrated news brief and its quiz. See Put the news brief on your site.
ProfileYour readers' Lexy accounts. See Profile widget and phone programs.

Display modes are for the Single game and the Auto widget. A Topic feed always shows cards, and the News Brief and Profile have a look of their own.

Pick a display mode

  1. On My Widgets, open the widget's menu and choose Edit.
  2. Under Widget Mode, choose Embedded card, FAQ, QR or Overlay.
  3. Under Widget Settings, switch on what you want. Only the settings the chosen mode uses are shown.
  4. Click Preview Widget to check it, then Save changes.

A Single game widget also offers the choice when you create it. An Auto widget starts as an Embedded card.

FAQThe title and every question in an accordion. Readers tap a question to see its answer. There is nothing to play. You want the questions and answers readable on the page.
QRA panel in your color with a QR code, the title and Scan to Play. A scan opens the game on the reader's phone.Readers see a screen they can't tap, or you also print the page.
OverlayA floating Play the quiz button in the bottom corner of the screen, with how many questions are ready. Its questions come from the page it's on, and more unlock as the reader reads, watches or listens. You want a quiz on the page without changing your layout.

On a Single game card, Play the quiz opens the play window. Readers can have Lexy call them with Call Now to Play, or open the arrow beside it for Play Online, Scan QR Code and Send to Phone.

On an Auto widget, the card is a gated card. It says where its questions came from, such as From this story, and they unlock as the reader works through the article, video or audio. See How the gated card works.
